My Story
I am a registered Educational Psychologist with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) since 2002. I am currently in private practice dealing with a range of psychological disorders of children, adolescents, youths and adults. Before opening my private practice, I worked as a chief educational specialist for the KZN Department of Education in Zululand District. My duties involved but were not limited to:
Attending to psychological needs of learners including psychoeducational assessments for appropriate interventions / accommodations and placements. Management of individual and group counselling sessions. Trauma debriefing and containment, career assessments and guidance as well as other psychosocial interventions including workshops at school level.
My mission is to promote mental health through preventative and corrective psychotherapy to enable high psychological functionality in all individuals (young and old).
I am the sole founder of Ithubalethu Health and Wellness company which offers psychological and health promotion programmes mainly to companies/schools and organizations such as:
- Employee Wellness Programme
- Workshops including but not limited to Stress Management, Team Building, Parenting Skills, Grief and Bereavement, Anger and Conflict Management.
- Educator/care staff Support Training Programmes for learners with special needs
- Neuropsychological assessments and RAF assessments.
